Marketing and Advertising Agency

IN THIS BATTLE
BETWEEN THE SEXES,
EVERYONE WINS!

POINT 3 MEDIA, NASHVILLE, TN -- The discussions often begin with, "I think we should do this," followed by, "I already thought of that, and I think we should do this INSTEAD," prompting the response, "Well, I disagree because..." Sparring matches such as this are typical at Point 3 Media between founder and president, Larry Roy, and vice president and co-owner, Sheilah Griggs. Why? Well, both are Type A personalities bent on perfection. They approach challenges and opportunities differently. Then there's the ever present "man/woman" thing! But in this case, it seems the strong male and female leadership is a GOOD thing. "It wasn't always easy," says Griggs, who happens to also be the Nashville leader of Ladies Who Launch -- a national networking group for women! "My experience has taught me that men and women just think differently. Period. And that's okay. I embrace that now." A business owner in advertising for over 20 years, Roy agrees, "Beyond gender, the differences in our backgrounds and life experiences contribute to us having different viewpoints and opinions. But allowing those differences to be expressed openly usually brings out the best ideas, strategies and solutions". Their clients agree. "When we want ideas, they always come back to us with great ideas. When we want those ideas put in motion, they move fast and make it happen," says Ted McDonald, CEO of The Surgical Clinic/Vein Centre & Aesthetics, a P3M full service client.

Great ideas and excellence in execution are cornerstones of this boutique ad agency and production company, which serves a diverse mix of clients in Middle Tennessee and around the country. "Often times, creativity comes from positive conflict. We don't just argue for the sake of arguing, there's always a worthwhile objective, usually a battle on behalf of a client," says Roy. "We have made a conscious decision that we would let our differences be our strengths-- and they are," adds Griggs. "And we trust each other." It's doubtful that their clients realize just how passionately the entire Point 3 Media team tackles problems on their behalf, but they seem to appreciate the results. As one client put it, "I wish we had met Point 3 at the beginning of our marketing efforts. We now have a highly creative and effective marketing campaign. It feels good to trust who you work with." The formula must be working. As Point 3 Media enters its 10th year in business, Griggs and Roy have started a new company, Idiom Entertainment, which has 3 TV pilots in the works. "I'm looking forward to what will come our way next," says Griggs. "Whatever it is, she'll say she thought of it," says Roy. "That's because I usually do," affirms Griggs. And so it goes!
